Assessing Student Empowerment in Mobile-Assisted Extensive Reading in a University Setting

Mobile-assisted language learning and its impact on students’ outcomes have been examined as one of the attractive methods in English extensive reading (ER). Yet, studies investigating mobile-assisted empowerment are scarcely reported. Grounded a scale, this research aimed to assess toward enactment private university Indonesia. This case study involved students (n=27) from Department Education at university. All participants were voluntarily recruited according protocol assigned by department. data garnered closed-ended questionnaires, reflective journal writing, semi-structured interviews get an in-depth analysis lived experiences online reading. The findings revealed how felt empowered during their mobile engagement. present also demonstrates self-driven tasks engaged sharing information values report tasks. Further, it was found that self-regulated shouted through motivation self-reflection, including satisfaction impact. Pedagogically, implied teacher educators need consider wide range topics materials related second essential principle ER. Therefore, for successful program happen, should provide continued schedule incorporate into classroom practice.
